At 1826 hours the FLFD was dispatched mutual aid to Midland park a CO alarm. Assit Chief Bohny (340) and Ladder 342 (LT Devenney) with 5 responded to the call. Shortly after pulling out of Fire HQ both units were diverted to respond to Oakland for a possible house fire. Oakland Chief Leroy (1030) was the first on scene confirming a working house fire with smoke showing. Asst Chief Bohny and Ladder 342 arrived shortly after 1030 with Ladder 342 being the first rig on scene. 342’s crew made entry into the home finding fire in the attic and started opening up the ceiling as the first hand line was being put into service. 342’s crew split duties with members opening up inside the home along with members going to the roof for ventilation. Crews made quick work of the fire bringing it under control in about 30 minutes before conducting salvage operations for the home owner. Units cleared the scene in 2 hours, great work to all for a quick knock.
