At 2058 hours Wednesday night communication dispatched the fire department for Res3cue to respond mutual aid to Oakland at 287 north for a tractor trailer roll over. Oakland Chief 1030 requested mutual aid after reporting a tractor trailer vs. a car on 287 N at The Ramapo Valley River Bridge with the trailer of the truck flipped over the bridge into the water.
Chief Dodd (330), Asst Chief Bohny (340) and Res3cue (Capt Pianettini) with a full crew responded. Chief Dodd went to the command post to assist with logistics while Asst Chief Bohny and Res3cue were sent to Roosevelt field to search under the bridge to asses the situation down below. Shortly after the arrival of the FLFD, Oakland command also requested Franklin Lakes Utility 344 to respond for lighting. Utility 344 (OIC Ex-Chief Kohan) with 4 responded and assisted with lighting at the scene on the highway. Due to a large fluid spill, Oakland Command requested hazmat from BergenCounty, Mahwah, a Rescue from Fair Lawn, and a Rescue from Wyckoff to respond to the scene. Crews operated on scene for just under 2 hours before Oakland command released the units from FranklinLakes.
