For the second time this month the Franklin Lakes fire department found themselves fighting another car fire, this time on Interstate 287 North. Chief Dodd (330), Squad 332 (LT Devenney) with 5, and Engine 331 (FF Ritz) with 3 responded. Chief Dodd arrived on location first and reported a well involved car fire off to the side of the road. Squad 332 arrived on scene and made quick work of the fire while Engine 331 assisted and gave the Squad extra water. Crews cleared the scene in about 20 minutes, after clearing the call the fire desk advised all units of multiple calls reporting the smell of gas in the area of Pulis and Phelps and also in the area of Court street and Franklin ave. Units responded and both calls were unfounded.
