At 0920 hours Tuesday morning Ladder 342 was requested to respond to Oakland, the OLPH for a reported fire on the roof of the church’s school. Chief Dodd (330), Asst Chief Bohny (340), and Ladder 342 (Capt Pianettini) with 4 responded. Chief Dodd and Asst Chief Bohny arrived on locating just as the Oakland rigs were arriving with Chief Dodd assuming the initial command. The fire was due to overhead electrical wire insulation burning and landing on the roof of the church’s school. The fire was put out before any OFD or FLFD units arrived and the crew from 342 assisted with checking for extension in the building. Crews operated for about 30 minutes before being released by Oakland command.
